Roxana Giurgiu

Hello, I’m Roxana and I’m studying Media, Communication and Cultural Studies at Newcastle University. I’m originally from Romania, a beautiful Eastern European country.

I’m passionate about cultural diversity and always eager to see and learn about new places. I’m interested in the particularities of Eastern European countries and especially the impact that communism had on some of them. For my dissertation, I’m planning to look at how good ethics and transparency in communication could help deconstruct post-communist attitudes in Romania’s Branding and PR practice.

I’m also interested in how inequality of any kind can affect the landscape of a culture, and I want to learn more about the ways we can address and solve these problems.

Other than that, I love mountains, people, trains, forests and late nights by the fire- everything that is nature, adventure and God. I also enjoy singing and writing and generally any kind of artistic expression.

I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and working together over the next week!
